Dr. Bui Cong Tho said that in recent years, the German World University Support Organization (WUS) has actively mobilized, donated and sponsored a total of 411 German nano-technology clean drinking water purifiers for Vietnam, installed in schools in remote areas and areas frequently affected by natural disasters and floods in Vietnam.
Thanks to that, more than 1.6 million people in Vietnam have clean drinking water; students, teachers and people in the surrounding areas have clean drinking water for daily use.
Immediately after Typhoon Yagi, WUS Germany actively mobilized and donated 18 more nano-technology clean drinking water purifiers for people in provinces suffering from natural disasters.

The machine does not require chemicals, electricity or specialists to operate; instead, the machine has a multi-layer membrane filter system that filters clean water.
Each PAUL machine can filter 1,200 liters per day and with a drinking water demand of 3 liters per person, the machine provides enough safe drinking water for at least 400 people per day. The inventor of the PAUL machine is Prof. Dr. Franz-Bernd Frechen at the University of Kassel in the state of Hessen.
